Johann Bernhard Bach [41] was was born the son of Johann Christoph Bach [22] (organist in Ohrdruf, brother of J.S. Bach). From 1709 to 1714 he attended the Lyceum in Ohrdruf; and from 1715 to 1719 he studied with J.S. Bach in Weimar and Köthen. From 1721 he was organist of Michaeliskirche in Ohrdruf. A suite in E flat and a sonata in B flat, both for keyboard, were cited by Philipp Spitta.
In his undated autobiography, Johann Bernhard Bach described himself as a student of J.S. Bach.
